The workshop takes place in the University Hall (Academiegebouw) of Utrecht University. It is located in the city center right next to the Dom of Utrecht.

Academiegebouw in Utrecht
The University Hall is Utrecht University’s ceremonial heart and its public face. Academic ceremonies including PhD ceremonies, inaugural lectures and the awarding of undergraduate and graduate diplomas, all take place at the University Hall. The oldest part of the University Hall dates back to 1462.

On Thursday, 12 October, we will gather for a reception with drinks and snacks in the bar “De Rechtbank”, nearby the workshop location.
Travel directions
Into The Netherlands
Amsterdam Schiphol is the main airport for traveling to The Netherlands by air. From Schiphol, trains to Utrecht take about 30 minutes and depart every 15 minutes. The train station is located directly below the airport.
Other airports in the Netherlands include Rotterdam/Den Haag (RTM) and Eindhoven (EIN). Several low-budget airlines fly into one of these two airports from within Europe. From both airports, it takes approximately 1h 15min to Utrecht by public transport.
To the workshop venue
Walking
From Utrecht Central Station it is a 10-15 minutes walk through the old city center to the Academiegebouw. Exit the station by following the signs Centrum.
With public transport
Inside the station follow the signs Busstation Jaarbeurszijde to the central bus stop. From there take one of the many buses through the city center and exit at Janskerkhof. The workshop location is a 5 min walk from here through the city center. Amongst others, your options include
- Bus 7 toward
Voordorp - Bus 8 toward
Wilheminapark - Bus 55 toward
Maartensdijk - Bus 77 toward
Bilthoven.
The lines 7, 8, 55 and 77 all leave from bus stop D2. Other lines may leave from different platforms on the opposite side of the station (Jaarbeursplein).
